Chrigel Maurer

Chrigel Maurer is one of the world's most decorated paragliding athletes, winning three consecutive World Championship titles alongside European Championships, Swiss Championships, and beating his competitors in six Red Bull X-Alps competitions. Now established as a legend in his sport, there isn’t much left for Chrigel to achieve.

Flying high with The Eagle of Abelboden

From an early age, Chrigel saw inspiration in the sky. When he was just seven years old, he found freedom in the clouds on his first tandem paraglide. From then on, his ambition was set: he wanted to be a professional paraglider.

Fast forward 11 years and Chrigel was taking part in his first World Championship in Mexico, getting to know the world elite and refining his skills.

Paragliding is a tactical sport, requiring deep planning and the ability to cover ground with your feet. Athletes need strong energy reserves to climb up to launch points and keep their body at optimal temperatures, which can be challenging at altitude.
