Air-Conditioning Channel® for X-SOCKS®

Fresh air circulation for more performance.

The Challenge

Needless to say, protective clothing, especially for the feet, is a necessity. Mankind’s conquest of the world and his advance into its cold, harsh climates, made socks and shoes essential. The naked foot could not longer sufficiently protect us. And this is the challenge. How can we perfectly protect and support our feet and recreate the natural, dry barefoot climate at the same time?

The Solution

The revolution: X-SOCKS®. The X-SOCKS® research team learned from evolution – and completed it by an essential, revolutionary step. The breakthrough is the development of the Air-Conditioning Channel®. For the first time, a sock is capable to dissipate warm, moist air and provide the foot with cool, dry fresh air. Your feet can now breath in socks and shoes! The Air-Conditioning Channel® for X-SOCKS® is an air channelling system made of a finely woven knit mesh that continually circulates air and regulates the temperature around the foot. Located on the inside of the foot and extending up from the anatomically shaped footbed, it ensures that every movement of the foot pumps the moist, warm air out of even tight fitting shoes.

The Solution

We positioned the Air-Conditioning Channel® under the arch of the foot, the area that normally does not touch the ground. It begins there and then moves along the foot up to the cuff. Covering only 30 % of the skin’s surface, it is constructed using a fine-knit mesh, so with every step, moist air is pumped out of the shoe and fresh air is drawn back in. An optimal air circulation system for the foot is now a reality: fresh air can even be circulated within a snug-fitting shoe.
